PopCorn Ball Tree Ornament

Small popcorn ball (one for each guest)
Mini candy canes
Colored sugar
Frosting
Mini M&Ms

You'll need a small popcorn ball for each person (ours are store-bought and about 3 inches wide). Use a wooden skewer to poke a small hole in the top, snap the end off of a mini candy cane to create a point, and gently press the sharp end of the cane into the popcorn ball far enough to make a loop, as shown. For the sugar dots and lines, pour colored sugar onto a flexible paper plate (the flexibility makes it easy to pour the extra sugar back into the container when you're done). Fill a pastry bag with frosting, or scoop frosting into a quart-size plastic bag and cut off one corner. Working on one dot or line at a time, pipe frosting thickly onto the ball, then press the ball gently into the sugar so that only the frosting touches it. Use frosting to glue mini M&Ms to the ball.

Pizza Roll Man Dies

Many of us have had pizza rolls before and the rest of us probably know what they are. Those little bites of pizza rolled up in a bite size roll. The inventor of the pizza rolls Mr. Jeno passed away Thursday. Thank him for the invention that helps my teens get by when they are in a hurry and have no time for a sit down meal. Want more information about Mr. Jeno find it here

Mommy's Idea

This week has been quite a busy one, and as busy as it was I was as slugish as can be I have been suffering from a headcold, sore throat and cough. Why does it always seem when there is so much to be done I went shopping on Tuesday, oh my the stores were a mess and the thing is I think we all decided to go on Tuesday rather than the day before Thanksgiving to miss the crowds. Bad decision as we all seemed to make the same one. The shopping done I had to work the day before and the day of Thanksgiving so the dishes were made 1/2 by myself and 1/2 by my husband and teens. We made it all come together and I loved the fact that we worked together to get it all done. So super happy. What was your Thanksgiving like? I do realize that it is a U.S. custom so if you would just share the last time your family came together and had a great meal.

1. I love when I see my moms beautiful face (not sure why I put this here just been thinking about her alot and all she does for all)

4.

Death By Caramel Bars

3 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2 cups unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup uncooked regular oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
6 (2.07-oz.) chocolate-coated caramel-peanut nougat bars, chopped (we tested with Snickers)
1 (14-oz.) can dulce de leche*

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to butter mixture, stirring just until blended. Fold in chopped candy bars. Spoon batter into a greased aluminum foil-lined 13" x 9" pan coated with cooking spray, allowing foil to extend over ends of pan. (Pan will be very full.) Spoon dollops of dulce de leche over batter; swirl slightly into batter with a knife. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Remove to a wire rack, and cool completely. (This may take several hours.) Use foil to lift uncut brownies out of pan. Peel foil away from sides of uncut brownies, and cut into bars.
*Find dulce de leche with other Mexican ingredients or on the baking aisle.

Recipe Left Over Turkey : Thanksgiving Memories Casserole

1 pkg. Chicken (or Turkey) Stovetop Stuffing - Prepared
Leftover cut-up turkey or chicken ~ or ~ 1 12.5 oz. can of canned chicken
(Whatever amount you have will work.) (We get ours from Costco.)
Mashed Potatoes (real, or a prepared package of 4~6 servings)
2 cups of Grated Cheese

1) Spread butter (with a brush or paper towel) all over the bottom and sides.

2) Plop the mashed potatoes in there in several blobs, and spread out to form a layer. (This is easier than doing one big blob as it's harder to spread it all over from one blob in the center with the butter on the bottom of the pan making it slippery.)

3) Sprinkle the cut-up turkey or chicken all over the potatoes.

4) Drop the dressing all over, and press that down for another layer.

5) Sprinkle the grated cheese all over the top. (You can always use more or less.)

6) Bake at 350 for 20 min. (If it's been in the fridge for several hours, then I'd bake for an extra 10 min.)

Caramel Cheesecake Pie

1 sheet refrigerated pie pastry
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon Spice Islands® pure vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups chopped pecans
1 jar (12-1/4 ounces) fat-free caramel ice cream topping
Additional fat-free caramel ice cream topping, optional

Line a 9-in. pie plate with pastry. Trim and flute edges. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, 1 egg and vanilla until smooth. Spread into pastry shell; sprinkle with pecans. In a small bowl, whisk remaining eggs; gradually whisk in caramel topping until blended. Pour slowly over pecans. Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until lightly browned (loosely cover edges with foil after 20 minutes if pie browns too quickly). Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight before slicing. If desired, garnish with additional caramel ice cream topping. Yield: 6-8 servings.
