Fridays's Fave Five

It is Friday again and time to wrap up the past week with a list of our favorite five. Here's my list

  1. Sunday was a great day as we had 11 babies dedicated at church (yes 11) and also got to see the music minister of our church in a dress. Did not reckon on ever seeing that but for mothers day we had a play that many of the great put on.
  2. Mothers day was great and I received lots of love from those that I had helped raise, raised and the littlest ones around. I also received a card from a dear friend that gave me respect of being a mother to so many
  3. Last Saturday was such a blast with the whole family here to celebrate my sons birthday it was truly lots of fun. I believe that there are some that can not believe that we are all getting along so well
  4. My 2 oldest have been spending the night over at their aunt and uncles house. Oldest daughter goes on Senior trip today. She will have a blast I am sure. I hope that it does not rain on them
  5. Storms swept through here last weekend it was a rough going for many of them. The electricity is just now on, one week later. Such devastation and just yesterday my town was hit by massive storm which blew lots of trees down, knocked the announcer box out of the air smashing to the ground, the score board has been smashed, the weight room and storage sheds are destroyed and many problems throughout the town happened. Here at home the storm hit that afternoon. when my daughter tried her graduation cap and gown on. The tears wailed up in eyes and she began to be real emotional. I am sure that she is both happy and sad that this time in her life has arrived

Friday Fragments May 15, 2009

I went to the doctor this week and found out that I will be having my gallbladder taken out. Oh Yeah me I am only thankful that my doctor understands all that I face in life and he is willing to work with me.
Tommorow my daughter goes on her senior trip. I hope that she has a great time and takes lots of pictures. Can't wait to hear all the stories when she gets home. I am sure that she will have a blast because that is just her.
Tonight my daughter put her cap and gown on and she had tears in her eyes. I think that she sees all that she is leaving behind and oh what fun she has had these past 4 years. I love her very much and know the outlook on the world will be great.
My son was taken to the doctor yesterday and he has a colon virus. I am happy that we found out what it was and he is now feeling better after getting medicine. There is lots going on though with sinus infections and stomach problems. Doc says he has been quite busy.
I tried the new drink at Taco Bell tonight great flavor but man talk about brain freeze it truly will give you that. I tried the strawberry drink there is another one that is pineapple as well.

Thankful Thursday

1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

I so love this verse as it seems to say to me that we are nothing but with Jesus in our corner we are everything. Perhaps this verse is the wisest thing to remember. For if we follow Jesus then we will be cared for with the best. It is when we depart from his ways that we worry, get stressed and troubles incure.

Proverbs 12:25 Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up

Why worry and get all stressed out we should keep enouraged and share encouraging words.

As we travel down lifes events there will be many difficulties. We will never be able to face it all along without him in our corner.

Today I am thankful for the family , friends, church members and others who give me grand encouragement and helps me remember that one day we will find a blessed home and live forever with our Lord Jesus
I am very thankful that while I need to have my gallbladder taken out I do have time to go at my own pace. I am thankful for the doctor that I have and his encouraging, Christian love that he knows while I am afraid that he can encourage and send me in the right direction.

For more great words of encouragement and see what others are thankful for visit the blog Spiritually Unequal

Annie B's Candy Company review and giveaway

Do you remember the good old days? One of the memories that I hold is the homemade caramels. Oh my aunt made some of the best I had ever tasted. That is until I tasted Annie B's caramels. What glorious mouth watering taste they left in my mouth. They tasted so great and believe me it was hard to share any.

Caramels of yesteryear used to be wrapped in wax paper and look like the ones above. The picture above comes from the Annie B's website and shows exactly how the caramels appear. There are no squares here and believe me these taste much better than the caramel squares you will find at the local grocery store.

Located in Kellog MN, caramel making has been part of Annie's family for 25+ years. However the candy company has grown from the meek beginning but the taste has remained the same. These great candies are sold in many different states now and you can look for a place near you by clicking on this link here.

Along with the great homemade flavored caramels Annie B's also sells great caramel flavored popcorn. What baby shower would not love to have special packages of caramel corn for those who attend? There isn't any event or holiday that Annie B's doesn't have a gift to fit. So if you are looking for just that right gift for that great event remember Annie B's. Not only does Annie B's have the best gifts but they also custom make customized & personalize caramel corn labels & caramel bags & tags for any occasion.

Annie B's remembers that great old fashioned flavor with a great price. That is why Annie B's is so impressive to me

Win: Annie B's would love to allow one of Annie's Home readers a chance to win some lovely goodies. One reader will win a snack collection of a large back of caramel corn and a 1/3 lb gift pack of caramels.

To win you must visit Annie B's website here and let me know the name and address of the store that sells Annie B's products by clicking here

For thirty years Lula created great looking goodies in Salt Lake City. Now Scott the grandson carries on this wonderful tradition creating and selling delectables to many. The chemistry of making great confectioneries is a talent that has been aided by experience as well as schooling. To make such wonderful treats available are made special because the chemistry of the candy has been properly groomed.

Just take a look at the gooey goodness and richness in the Lula's chocolate. Don't you think it is just mouthwatering? Let me tell you I know it is. The flavors in the Lula's chocolate clicked in my taste buds and was delicious. If you love dark rich chocolate then Lula's Chocolates can fix you up fast with some of the best dark chocolate flavors you will ever find.

Lula's Chocolate also sent us a toffee with a bit more spice than what you would normally find. The toffee is prepared with the same great ingredients as normal but then the Lula’s confection masters toss in raw, whole almonds that roast inside the toffee, adding some of our signature chili zest. You can feel the Baja flavor! So if your taste buds need a bit more spice Lula's chocolates can fix this up as well.

We also received a box of 4 piece of Lulas wonderful chocolates. Oh my! I have always went for the square piece every since I was a kid. So of course I tried the square piece knowing it was chocolate. Oh my but the surprise I received when the taste of the great piece of chocolate melted together with the caramel in my mouth. My taste buds celebrated and sang out loud. Boy was it great so I could not stop at one piece I had to have another. Once again great tasting flavors rejoiced with my taste buds. It is a good thing I do not make a living eating Lula's chocolates because I would never know if I could stop.

Let me share my wonderful thoughts about the great tasting sea salt caramels. Now my children questioned whether I was loosing my mind when I offered them a sea salt caramel. But let me tell you the salt seemed to rock the caramels. Now I am a caramel lover by birth I believe but I believe the sea salt seemed to send these caramels over the top. What more could someone want in a snack sweet, chocolate, salty has it all rolled up in one.

With the economics being the way they are today we often have to do without many of our loves. At Lula's there is no need to do without.
